Beauty & the Briefcase (DVD)
By Hilary Duff

This is a Hillary Duff made-for-TV movie, so I probably didn't come into Beauty & the Briefcase with particularly high expectations. However, they were met, and even exceeded some - for a romantic comedy. Working as an investigative journalist for Cosmo, Duff joins an investment banking firm to find an eligible bachelor in New York. There are some cute moments about having unrealistic expectations for a man. As with most romantic comedies, it's lighthearted and cheesy. Yet, unlike many, the protagonists - particularly Duff - come off as relatively normal, likable, and not pathetically desperate. Sure, they have their quirks and faults, but I never felt annoyed by their characters but rather sorry for them. Fun for date nights with a significant other.

**Spoilers Alert**

I did think the subplot with Liam was distracting. First of all, it was too obvious Duff's character wouldn't end up with him - he was TOO perfect. More importantly, it took time and attention away from the idea of dating in the business world. This theme could have been played up a lot more than what is actually captured in the movie. In fact, there are really 2 guys in the office who are really even "contenders." Instead, I could easily have imagined the "Liam" character changed into one of Duff's coworkers, but one who it turns out was engaged in shady stock deals or something. I reduced my rating by a star because there was just so much more comedic potential in mixing the women's fashion and men's business worlds.

Cheaper by the Dozen (DVD)
By Steve Martin

Okay, so it's not as good as the book. And actually, other than the title and the fact that it involves a family with twelve kids, it bears no resemblance to the book at all. But "Cheaper by the Dozen", which stars Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt as the parents of a REALLY big family, is sweet and sorta funny and carries a nice message about spending time with your kids. And in the end that was good enough for me.

The Bakers never set out to have twelve children, it just sort of happened, and as the movie opens they are living in chaotic but harmonious discord in a rambling old house in the country. But then Dad gets the job of a lifetime, and the whole brood moves into the city/suburbs, where the kids don't fit in and are miserable and the parents begin to fight and everything starts to fall apart. And them Mom goes on a book tour. Craziness ensues.

If you are a pre-teen, teen, or, like me, twenty-three and sad, you will recognize almost every kid in this movie from Disney and WB shows. Tween fave Hilary Duff isn't given much to do and is wasted, but "Smallville"'s Tom Welling is affecting as the oldest son, even if his plot line is a little ridiculous. (I mean, there is no high school, anywhere in America, where a guy as impossibly gorgeous as Welling would be an outcast. We know a hottie when we see one.)

"Cheaper by the Dozen" doesn't have any really big laughs, but many small ones, and you may get teary-eyed at the end. A pretty good family flick and recommended for a Saturday matinee at the movies.<P(...)

This is Hil's third music DVD, and it's really great! Yes, as most of the people here are saying, it was a little short. But still, short or long, Hil's DVDs always turn out awesome. This DVD is mostly about the video Fly and the Most Wanted tour. Join Hilary in this DVD when she takes you behind the scenes in how the video of Fly was really made. Hil takes you to some shows and rehersals for you to watch. She talks about what it's like to be on tour, how it is to make a music video, about her own albums, and much more. In this DVD, Hilary puts on a concert rehersal for some contest winners. She takes you inside the tour bus and introduces you to her band. Plus, the video of Fly is on the DVD too! This DVD was worth it. Any Hilary Duff fan should own this DVD!

Cadet Kelly was such a good movie! It is based around a girl named Kelly Collins (Hilary Duff.) Her life is flipped around when her step-father, Sir (Gary Cole), wants her to go to military school. Though she does not want to go, leaving Manhatten, she does attend the school. Kelly then meets Jennifer Stone (Christy Carlson Romano), who is a strict or "mean" kind of person. Both don't get along, but in the end.. everything works out! I AM HAPPY TO SEE THIS MOVIE RELEASED ON DVD ON MY BIRTHDAY! Yeah! (Get it for me, mom and dad or friends!!)I WAS SO SAD A YEAR OR SO AGO THAT OTHER MOVIES FROM DISNEY WERE RELEASED BUT NOT CADET KELLY! THANK YOU!!! happy b-day for me.. soon!

A Cinderella Story (Full Screen Edition) (DVD)
By Hilary Duff

Once upon a time not so very long ago a young girl named Sam Martin (Hilary Duff) lived in the San Fernando Valley with her widowed father (Whip Hubley). He delighted in reading her fairy tale stories every night, as well as teaching her good values, including standing up for herself. He ran a successful diner and one day, married again to give Sam a mother: a woman named Fiona (Jennifer Coolidge) who had daughters of her own, fraternal twins Brianna (Madeline Zima) and Gabriella (Andrea Avery). And then Sam?s father died in the Northridge earthquake, leaving her alone with her stepmother and two stepsisters. With no will found to speak of, Fiona takes over ownership of the house and the diner, relegating Sam to live in the attic.

Fast forward eight years: Sam has grown into a pretty young senior in high school (who is often lost in the crowd), and must balance mounds of schoolwork, working at the diner, and taking care of her spoiled stepmother?s every whim. While Sam dislikes being made into a ?slave,? she tries to keep her stepmother happy in order to get money to attend Princeton (her dream). She has a text message secret admirer who she communicates with on a regular basis. Along with best friend Carter (Dan Byrd) they attend the school?s Halloween dance ?incognito?, where Sam is set to meet her secret admirer for the first time. Dressed in a never-before-been-worn wedding gown and mask she was loaned by friends, including ?fairy god-mother? Rhonda (played by Regina King, who has worked at the diner since Sam was a child), Sam is ready to meet her Prince Charming.

Lizzie McGuire - Growing Up Lizzie (TV Series, Vol. 2) (DVD)
By Hilary Duff

If you asked me what the best show on television for kids is, I would have no, and I mean absolutely no hesitation, in saying that it is the Lizzie McGuire show. It features a young girl having to deal with the issues of Middle School and how she manages through her struggles, by choosing to do what is right in the end. Sometimes, she temporarily masses up and ends up getting the consequences of her actions, and does what is right in the end.
Eight episodes were released on DVD on December 9th. They are bundled as "Fashionable Lizzie" and "Growing Up Lizzie." These DVDs make great Christmas presents and if you buy both of them, you might consider buying another Disney DVD title (such as the Lizzie McGuire Movie), because Disney will give you another DVD for free. This offer expires at the end of December though. Again, these are great DVDs.

This movie was critizized harshly by reviewers, but they were obviously blind to the film's greatness, as you may call it. Everything about this film is lovable, the story, the characters, the actors - Hilary Duff; need I say more? Yes, probably a thousand people said this movie was very fake but if all movies were relatable or true & possible, then all we would have in theaters would be documentaries. Bottom line is, I loved this film, very, very, much & I have watched it over and over & I still laugh everytime. What do I mean by all of this? BUY IT. Period.

Hilary Duff (Audio CD)

This CD brings back a lot of memories. In 2003-05 Hilary Duff was my favorite artist! But this tracklisting is just plain disappointing.

Even though I'm not a big fan of her anymore, I loved Dignity. I was hoping she would release another dance-pop album. Instead, Hollywood Records decided to release her second compilation after only three albums.

They could have used this chance to put out a really good best of, since 'Most Wanted' seemed like just a bunch of random songs by her, or something like a dance mix album of her biggest hits, to go with her new music style. Instead, they listed strictly the most popular singles from each of her albums.

It begins with two new tracks, "Reach Out (and Touch Me)" and "Holiday." The former is the semi-sexual lead single. Then we get all three singles from Dignity ("Stranger", "With Love", "Play With Fire"), only one from Most Wanted ("Wake Up"), only one from Hilary Duff ("Fly") and three from Metamorphosis ("Come Clean (Non-Album Remix)", "So Yesterday", "Why Not") and then remixes of the new tracks.

But missing are the soundtrack songs that made her career, like "Our Lips Are Sealed", "What Dreams Are Made Of", and her singing debut "I Can't Wait" from the Lizzie Soundtrack would have been a wonderful addition! Also missing are the radio singles "Beat of my Heart", "Someone Watching Over Me", and the Radio Disney singles like "The Math" and "Girl Can Rock."

Here should be the tracklisting:

1. Reach Out
2. Holiday
3. Stranger
4. With Love
5. Play With Fire
6. Beat of My Heart
7. Wake Up
8. Someone's Watching Over Me
9. Fly
10. Our Lips Are Sealed
11.
